and unless issues such as capsule contracture arise, there is no need for breast implants to be replaced or removed. there are many patients who have undergone the procedure 20 years ago and still retain the intact beauty of their breasts. of course, there are certain situations that may call for the removal of the implants. if, over time, the breasts have sagged and breast asymmetry and ptosis has developed, a breast revision surgery is recommended to remove the implants and replace them with a new one. the implants today are of better quality than those produced 10 to 15 years ago. in addition, the implants age with time.
